What is CORE?
- CORE stand for Connecting Repositories.
- It is aggregator service of open access research papers from various repositories and journals, which is provided by the Knowledge Media Institute based at The Open University, United Kingdom.
- The first version of CORE was created in 2011 by Petr Knoth
- It is a not-for-profit service dedicated to the open access mission.
- It is One of the world’s largest aggregator of open access research papers
- CORE provides free access to its user through enriching the content through text mining and data mining
- CORE currently contains 207,255,818 open access articles collected from 10,590 data providers around the world.
- CORE harvests all metadata records in a repository, but it is in position to harvest full text records in PDF
