Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) in concerned discipline conducted by the ICAR, UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations,2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET.

Provided, the candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Bye- laws/Regulations of the Institution awarding the degree and such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/ Institutions subject to the fulfilment of the following conditions: –

  1. The Ph.D. degree of the candidate has been awarded in a regular mode;
  2. The Ph.D. thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners;
  3. An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate has been conducted;
  4. The Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work, out of which at least one is in a refereed journal;
  5. The candidate has presented at least two papers based on his/her Ph.D work in conferences/seminars sponsored/funded/ supported by the ICAR, UGC/ICSSR/CSIR or any similar agency.

The fulfilment of these conditions is to be certified by the Registrar or the Dean (Academic Affairs) of the University concerned.

Note: NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted by the ICAR. UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET.

  1. A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out in the Score Card by the University.
  2. The candidate should have one publication in NAAS (National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, New Delhi) rated referred Journal.

OR

(B) The Ph.D degree has been obtained from a foreign university/institution with a ranking among top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by any one of the following: (i) Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) (ii) the Times Higher Education (THE) or (iii) the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai).

Essential Qualifications for posts of Assistant Director Research/Assistant Director Extension: (Academic Level 10)

  1. A Recognized basic veterinary qualification unless otherwise required and prescribed with consistently good academic record and included in the first and second schedule in Indian Veterinary Council Act; 1984 & must be registered with a State Veterinary Council/ Veterinary Council of India, with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade in the point scale at the Master’s Degree in relevant discipline.
  2. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications NET in the relevant discipline shall remain compulsory along with one publication in NAAS rated refereed journal, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the ASRB, UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.

Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-clauses (i) and (ii) to this Clause 4.4.1 of UGC amended qualifications, candidates, who are, or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in University/Colleges/Institutions.

Provided, the award of degrees to candidates registered for the M.Phil/Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/By Laws/Regulations of the Institution awarding the degrees and the Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility’ condition of “NET/SLET/SET” for recruitment and appointment of

Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions subject to the fulfilment of the following conditions:

  • D. degree of the candidate awarded in regular mode only;
  • Evaluation of the Ph.D. thesis by at least two external examiners;
  • Candidate had published two research papers out of which at least one in a refereed journal from out of his/her Ph.D. work;
  • The candidate had presented two papers in seminars/conferences from out of his/her Ph.D. work;
  • Open Ph.D. viva-voce of the candidate had been conducted.

(a) to (e), as above, are to be certified by the Vice-Chancellor/pro-Vice Chancellor/Dean (Academic Affairs)/Dean (University Instructions) “.

Essential Qualifications for posts of Assistant Librarian: (Academic Level 10)

  1. Master’s Degree in Library Science, Information Science or Documentation Science or an equivalent professional degree, with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point -scale, wherever the grading system is followed)
  2. A consistently good academic record, with knowledge of computerization of a library.
  3. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be:
